Woke up in a place called Rome, you may have heard of it. Breakfast: croissant and cappuccino. Day three in Rome, and we took Vatican City on by storm. Literally storm. After breakfast we got ready for the day with the blue sky we could see out our window in mind. We didn’t even make it to the stairs outside before it was raining rain drops the size of small Easter candy eggs. On a side note; how awesome would it be if it actually rained Easter candy? One of the men we asked directions from told us there was actually a bus that went directly there and we happened to be standing at the bus stop, 15 seconds later the bus pulled up. Awesome. He was right the bus did go directly there but there were so many people on the bus that the doors closed before Kelsey and I were even off the bus. So we got off at the next stop and walked there.
We got a little distracted by a little café that was screaming our names. So naturally we went in and opted for wine instead of coffee. The café was run by all brothers with some version of the name Michelangelo. They couldn’t have been more Italian if they tried. Eventually we made it into Vatican City and took a ton of pictures and cracked each other up about silly stuff that made no sense.
Last stop for the day Trevi Fountain, but not before hitting up every tour shop along the way. The fountain was beautiful, we threw coins over our shoulders and made a wish just like in the movies.
For our final Rome dinner we got cheap salads and wine from the grocery story and stayed in for the night at the hostel. Last night with my Kelsey, BOOOOO.
Rome did not disappoint. I loved taking photos of the Coliseum. It rained the whole time we were there but the clouds always seemed to break at the most perfect moment and the blue sky would come out. Except when I had to walk 20 minutes to the train station in a torrential down pour. I was soaked to the bone but I didn’t even care.
